this little tool is very handy July 27, 2008 youll be using this tool all the time. Very handy to keep in your tool box!
very nice and precise rafter square March 12, 2006 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
it's one of the best instrument I bought and plety of use
Johnson Rafter Square March 10, 2006 Pretty cool tool, and a lot handier than the conventional rafter square, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't have and use both. Out of the box it needs some attention with a smooth file to tame the sharp edges, but that is perhaps just this particular speciman. Recommended.

Bigger IS Better! February 6, 2001 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I like this large version even better than the small one I had used previously. It is better as a saw guide and for doing layout work. There are a series of notches that allow you to firmly seat a pencil as you drag the square along a board, using it as a marking guage. This is great for laying out rip cuts - pencil doesn't blow away like a chalk line when your saw blade is spinning. There are scales on both sides of the square for rafter angles. This tool works great on larger 2x lumber, without being as bulky as a 16" x 24" framing square. Buy it, you'll like it!
a fine tool, for a true carpenter June 16, 2000 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I just ordered this size I have had a 7 inch square in the past and I think the notches are a very good for marking your wood to rip it.
