5 out of 5 stars Good product for roof safety   October 30, 2007

My roof is 20+ feet above the ground with a 30 deg slope and I have to service it at least once a year for gutter cleaning (right near the edge) plus do inspections and any repairs. This product works really well for roof safety (I bought mine for $99 at home depot plus I'll need to buy two more roof anchors which I found online for $20 a piece). It's easy to use and prevents falls (by keeping the line taut) plus will arrest a fall. Both the time and money invested is well worth it to me to significantly reduce the risk of disability or death from a fall. The roof anchor takes a little work to install because you have to go on the roof and measure to determine it's approximate location then inside the attic to determine it's exact location (by finding the nearest stud) then you hammer nails from the inside out on either side of the stud, then you go back onto the roof, find the nails, remove the ridge cap, hammer down the anchor and reattach the ridge cap (about an hour's total work). But once done it works like a charm. Each anchor covers a 20 ft span of roof.
I fully recommend it. I've heard of too many disabled people from roof falls and my life is worth more than that. BTW the quality of the product is just great.
