The Door Guardian Sliding Patio Door Lock is an elegant solution to sliding patio door security and safety. It was designed to replace the piece of wood, hcokey stick or broom you normally find in the bottom track of your slding patio door and is more attractive than a pin lock or charlie bar. It mounts easily to the upper track of most vinyl,wood and aluminum sliders. There is no drilling required , just run 2 screws into a keeper plate provided and then into the upper track. A 3" ventilation position is provided. Out of reach for children the Door Guardian Patio Door Lock was evaluated by National Safe Kids Washington, DC as one of the best childproofing devices for Patio Doors. All hardware and easy to follow instructions are included.

 Guard Your Doors & House September 20, 2008
I had to have someone install these door guards only b/c I am really lame w/ that stuff! I feel safer inside my home b/c no one can kick the door down! I feel safer when I leave b/c they're really securing my doors.
Mine are not white, but gold. I have them on my back, front and garage entry doors.
Highly recommend them.

We have been using these locks on our sliding patio doors for a few years now. We just love them. They allow for a 3-4 inch opening for air to come in and are very secure. It took my husband an hour or more to install but they are very easy to use and give us added security for our little toddlers.

Little Houdini-in-trainings will not be able to open that sliding glass door again. Keep your toddlers safe and inside the house even after they have mastered the regular lock. By having this lock way up high, there's no way they'll be able to unlock it themselves. Forget the broom handle in the lower track, this is the best.

This product turned out better than I expected. I have a daycare in my home and the kids no longer have a broom handle to run off with! I was pleasantly surprised that you can crack the door open a few inches while still keeping it locked.

I am 6'4 and weigh over 275 and we installed 2 of these on a fiberglass front door to our home. My brother and i both tried with all of our might to get in but with no luck. it held secure.... Great, cheap security.
