Get the Dual Color December 23, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I like the short and squat form factor of this flashlight much better than that of my long and thin Mini Maglite. If you're an adult guy, it almost disappears inside your closed hand. It fits more easily in a pocket and isn't as obvious in a belt pouch. And with top-quality LEDs, the three AAA batteries should last much longer than the two AAs in the incandescent Mini Maglite.
One suggestion. You might want to look for the LL7736D Dual Color model rather than this white-only model. It has five white LEDs and one red LED, each operated by separate switches on the side. The latter (red) is more than adequate for walking about at night and won't hurt your night vision. Red also should give you about five times the battery life and won't disturb animals that are red blind. And if you need more light, the impressively bright five white LEDs are available in an instant.
My one gripe--their specs say these lights are water-resistant, which could mean anything from works in the rain to works 100 feet underwater. I wish they'd be more specific.

Excellent high quality light. Perfect for any professional that needs a reliable, lightweight flashlight. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the slight blueish color of the light, the ad said a "white" LED. It is not a true white light and I was a bit disappointed.
Plenty bright with decent throw for an LED. September 3, 2006 This light has a lot of good qualities. The anodized aluminum casing is solid and the endcap houses the switch. It conludes full-on and momentary mode and it's pretty hard to accidentally leave it on. The LED is quite bright and runs well on the 3 AAA batteries. I like that it uses easily replaceable batts for emergencies. The triple As fit into a plastic insert and this is about the only thing that worries me about it's construction. The LED itself sits behind a thick clear plastic "lens" that helps with the light dispersment. Seems to run for quite a long time on the batteries while maintaining it's brightness. It has a decent throw, at 40' it's very useful and it's still okay at 60-70'.
All in all, quite solidly built and I've had no problems. It's a bit pricey, but seems to be of good quality. The o-ring on the back cap was broken, so had to be replaced, but I guess I can live with that. Mine came with a decent nylon sheath (better than most flashlight sheathes I've had), though I don't know if the model on Amazon has it included.
