Great clamp, poor price. February 21, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought a bunch of these at Lowes for 19.97 a pair. I love the clamps, very handy for small jobs. They won't replace my other clamp for glue ups, but they come in handy for many tasks.
Very Handy to Have Around July 24, 2005 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I usually prefer the Bessey screw clamps, but I am more often than not reaching for the quick grips. I use them so often, I've purchased an additional set. They don't exert the torque you can get from a screw clamp, but they are far handier.
One set of clamps that I purchased were flawed; they would slip when I tried to clamp them tightly. I returned them and haven't seen the problem again. I've never had the clamps slip again, so if you run into that, I would suggest returning them for new ones. A word of warning, I did break one twisting the clamp . I was trying to line two pieces of wood up and the clamps wouldn't clamp tight enough, so I leveraged them to get the extra torque and one broke, but I was definitely using it outside of it's intended abilities. They would never break using it within the limits of the clamp, so don't fret.
They are always in constant use when I'm using a router, or doing any kind of sanding. Their rubber pads and handy size allows you to slip them over a work-piece quickly and get back to what you were doing. Originally, I was a bit apprehensive ordering them when I was comparing them to the regular sized Quick-Grips I own, but they are worth it for sure. You will keeping coming back to these time and time again when you need an extra hand around the shop, and the work-site. Great Buy,I won't hesitate to purchase them when I need more.
