OK for basic go/no-go testing October 30, 2008 This drinking water test kit is a decent go/no-go for the various tests listed. It won't give you exact numbers for concentrations and what not, but it will tell you if you're above/below federal limits (local limits may likely be lower, but with this test you won't have numbers to compare anyways).
All the tests can be completed in seconds or minutes, except for the e.coli which takes many hours (overnight basically) to get "results".
Price is good.
Not even one star; in fact, minus 5 stars October 18, 2008 This product had poor instructions - one set on one page and another set of instructions on another page - both extremely unclear. Of all the produts I've dealt with, this one in undoubtedly the bottom of the list. I will try to get refund from Amazon.
Did the job October 11, 2008 This product was easy to use and did exactly what it said it would. The only bad thing about it was it was so quick & easy that you found yourself being unhappy that it was all finished and nothing was wrong. Which I admit is peculiar since I certainly didn't really want to find I'd been drinking bad water.
For piece of mind September 22, 2008 We bought an old house and were concerned with lead. This test was easy to perform and gave us piece of mind that our water was a-ok.
Simple and Effective July 17, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The First Alert Drinking Water Test Kit is exactly what it claims to be: a simple and effective way to monitor the healthfulness of your drinking water. Simple instructions, clearly labeled materials, and 15 minutes is all it took to get a report card on my well water. All clear!
