The GE Smart Water Filter (GSWF) fits only the very newest GE Arctica refrigerators with the flip down filter compartment, including GTS18KHP, GTS18SHP, GTS22KHP, GTH22SHP, PTS22LHP, PTS22SHP, PTS25LHP, PTS25SHP, PDS20MCP, PDS20SCP, PDS22MCP, PDS22SCP. It improves the taste and odor of the water and removes the following impurities: 99% of Lead, 99.99% of Cysts, 76% of Atrazine, 99% of Lindane, 97% of Chlorine taste and odor, 99% of Turbidity, 99% of Sediment, Particulates (Class I). GE recommends that you replace the filter every 6 months if your refrigerator is not equipped with a filter status indicator light OR if your refrigerator has a filter status light, the filter should be changed when the light comes on or after one year, whichever comes first OR if the refrigerator has not been used for more than two weeks (for instance, during a move) OR if you notice a decrease in the flow of water or objectionable tastes in the water or ice.

 GE filter without the proce August 26, 2008
With tax and shipping I saved a significant amount compared to buying it in the store.
Good replacement for GE water dispensers April 8, 2008
I only gave this 4 stars because I don't see why it's so expensive, otherwise I am very pleased. But hey, this is GE's original replacement part for their product. If it was a dog then that would mean GE is the biggest bunch of dopes in the biz. Thankfully, that's not the case. Change it often, and you'll have fresh, clean water to enjoy year round.
Great water quality March 26, 2008
This filter results in great tasting water from my refrigerator dispenser. Who needs bottled water.
Arrived Promptly Fit Perfectly Filters Fine March 7, 2008
I received this item in good time and at a good price - better than what Sears was charging for it. It fit my fridge just as good as the old one. Seems to filter the water just fine. I didn't give it 5 stars because, it's just a filter - it just sits there! Maybe if it lasts a long time I will come back and give it 5 stars.
Filter works, icemaker working fine now... February 10, 2008
The filter performs its intended use fine. A bit annoyed that the icemaker stops working completely if the filter needs to be replaced, but that is more a problem with the refrigerator design.
