Editorial Reviews:

Amazon.com Review
With a remote control for convenient adjustment, this double window fan draws in fresh, cool air from the outside or exhausts stale, hot air from inside. It can also do both simultaneously, because each of the two fans can be set independently to draw in or exhaust out, allowing the unit to exchange inside and outside air. Operable either manually or automatically--with its thermostat turning the fans off and on to maintain a selected temperature--the unit has three speeds, electronic controls, and an LCD screen showing the selected temperature and the room temperature. The remote control (two AAA batteries are included) alters speed, manual/automatic operation, air-flow direction, and temperature.

The twin fan is designed to fit double-hung, vertical-slider, and casement windows. A built-in 7-inch extender and two 3-inch extenders permit custom fitting for windows from 24 to 37 inches wide. Because the unit is lightweight plastic it can be moved easily from room to room. The fans have six blades and measure 8-1/2 inches in diameter. Overall, the unit is 13 inches high, arrives fully assembled, and carries a five-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

You have three choices with this impressive bionaire window fan. You can suck fresh air in, you can blow stale air out, or you can do an exchange. The digital thermostat displays both the room and the set temperature. If you have a larger window, don't worry, this fan comes with two additional window panels. And you don't even have to get up to turn it on or off, or adjust the speed, since this fan comes with a remote. Now that's luxury!

5 out of 5 stars Keeping cool at the lake   September 15, 2008
We now own three of these fans. We use them at our cabin as we prefer not to use air conditioning. They operate much quieter than standard window fans and the light sleepers really appreciate this feature. They haave a few more bells and whistles than needed but they are the best fans we've ever had.

5 out of 5 stars Perfect Window Fan For ANYONE   September 13, 2008
This window fan is amazing. I purchased two, one for my upstairs bedroom and one for the downstairs living room. The thermostats work great, so whatever problem other people have had has seemed to be fixed in these later models. Don't expect these things to keep your area super cool, it isn't an air conditioner. The fans make it comfortable to be in a room and circulate the air very pleasantly. My first problem however though was that I had a window that was too big for this item with extensions but the one upstairs only needed one extension and I just moved its second one to the unit downstairs and it fit perfectly. I would imagine if your window is larger than 37 inches, you could contact the manufacturer for more extensions or you could rig something yourself. One of the drawbacks on the remote is that the power button for the fan also controls the fan speed, it covers every other facet of the fan seperately but for some reason not that one. Nevertheless, these fans are awesome, are going to lower my electric bill because I don't need to run the air conditioning as much and keeps the family cool. On high it can be a little loud but after awhile you drown out the noise. I couldn't be happier with this purchase and would gladly buy more for other rooms.

5 out of 5 stars Great window fan   September 1, 2008
I'm very impressed with the fan. It creates great circulation and fits the window flawlessly...even with a screen on. I would highly recommend this fan if you're looking to create a little breeze through your house or apt!

4 out of 5 stars I payed $45 for this fan about a month ago...   September 1, 2008
I went back to Amazon about a week ago to buy another and the price was $54. Then I checked again 2 days later and the price was $99. I came back today to check the price and they want $149. What the heck is that all about. I'll buy another at $45 and no more. I hate when internet companies try and rip you off. And that's exactly what they're trying to do. If you can get it for $45, I recommend buying it.

Update. It's seems they've brought the price back down to $54. Interesting. Let's see if it goes back to $45.

5 out of 5 stars Great window fan.   July 14, 2008

I've had this fan more than a year now and decided to write a review after having bought a Honeywell window fan. I guess I didn't really appreciate this bionaire before I used the other fan, Honeywell. Honeywell window fan is so loud that I can't use it for my bedroom. So I decided to use it for the living room, but now I have to turn up the TV volume higher and get irritated by the noise. But, bionaire's quite and circulate air very well. I really recommend this bionaire fan to anyone comparing between Honeywell and Bionaire.
