Amazon.com Review
This coil roofing nailer is one of seven new heavy-duty air-powered nailers from the venerable Milwaukee, and the whole series is another testament to the red label's unflagging quality.

At the top of our list is how incredibly light Milwaukee's nailers are, even fully loaded, and their compact size makes them a cinch to tote and use, especially in awkward positions. But a close second is the clever inclusion of a magnet that holds onto the nails as you're loading and significantly speeds up the process, reducing fumbling and dropped fasteners. Another big tip of the hat to Milwaukee for incorporating both sequential and bump firing modes, accessible just by turning a knob, so when speed is a need, you're ready to go, but precision is at your fingertips too. We like the quality built into this tool, from the magnesium housing to the rugged rubber bumper guard that protects your investment should the tool take a fall. The hassle-free replaceable nosepiece has hard-wearing carbide inserts, and there's even a self-cleaning air filter in the tool handle, keeping dust and dirt out of the tool's workings - and that means longer tool life. The shingle guide is a handy touch, and we like that it's easily removed when it's not needed.

In hand, this nailer feels great: light, comfortable, agile, and beautifully balanced. Loading fasteners is a breeze, depth adjustment is on-the-mark reliable, tool-free, fast and easy, and we couldn't get the thing to jam. Roofers and contractors will love this nailer. --Kris Jensen-Van Heste

5 out of 5 stars Big Red   September 16, 2008
Another winner from Milwaukee. Seven squares went down with one miss, which was not the nailers fault. Hit a spike and bent the nail. Removed it from the gun and went right back to work. Light and with a good balance. It will match our green and orange nailers. Highly recommend it.

5 out of 5 stars Very good nailer!   August 3, 2008
I used this nailer to install my roof last year. It worked flawlessly for all 18 square of shingles installed. It only jammed once and that was my own fault because I loaded the nails wrong.

I even dropped it off my two story house on to concrete twice and it still performed great.

Pros: Easy to load, doesn't jam, extremely durable.

Cons: Can't think of any.

5 out of 5 stars great price, well built tool   July 29, 2008
I was looking for a Bostitch nailer when I found this one. I didn't know Milwaukee made air tools, but I knew their reputation with power tools. I expected the quality to be excellent, and was not disappointed. I really like the easy switch between single and multiple shots.

5 out of 5 stars works well   July 27, 2008
Bought this to help reroof my garage which is now complete. At first I had a terrible time with jamming - basically every other shot or two would not feed and I would have to dry fire to get the gun to cycle. Tried oil which helped but not for long. The shots that did go in were fine. After a while I turned up the pressure (to something around 100 psi - don't remember exactly) and the feed problems went away and the gun worked flawlessly. I had set the pressure on the low end at first because I did not want to overdrive the nails. The depth setting didn't seem to affect the depth as much as the way the gun was held - may be obvious to some but I learned that if I pressed the gun into the shingle throughout the shot, I tended to overdrive more nails. Holding the gun a little looser and going quickly from shot to shot resulted in flush nails. I have used other roofing nailers in the past and this one worked just as well or better and was less expensive.

5 out of 5 stars An Awesome Nailer!   July 14, 2008
I bought this based on Amazon reviews. I was looking for a nailer for putting down cement board in my kitchen and soon putting down new roof. With its first thousand nails put in through 1/2" hardibacker board, I have to say this thing is surprisingly light and powerful. I compared it to my friend's $300 Hitachi, and he even had to admit that the Milwaukee had the Hitachi beat in every way that matters. The adjustable and removable shingle stop is a nice feature as well. I just can't find anything bad to say about this nailer, and it even comes with some cool sunglasses for working up on the roof.
