Bessey floor and clamping system July 6, 2008 This clamping product proved to be invaluable to me doing a 20x30 foot glue down floor and a 13x15 nail down ---I am just sorry I didn't buy 2 of them. It brought hard to manage tongue and groove slots together easily. Helped to make both jobs perfect. Would strongly recommend this product to anyone laying a floor. Bob Lerner NJ
If you need to install flooring, you need these December 2, 2007 Most people who install hardwood flooring seem to have the mistaken impression that the seems will just magically line up perfectly.
This is often true of laminate flooring, but not hardwood, because, well, wood just doesn't work that way (it will expand and contract more due to humidity, so the tongue and groove usually has a little play in it).
The way to get rid of seams and make it align perfectly is to use flooring clamps, like these, before nailing it down (or gluing it, or whatever).
As for quality, anybody who knows clamps will tell you Bessey makes the best clamps that exist. Ask any woodworker, he/she probably has 20-40 bessey clamps (or really wants them!). These clamps are no different.
So if you need to install hardwood flooring, and want it to look really nice, do yourself a favor and buy a pair of these. If you don't, you'll wish you did.
A pair of these will get the job done right! November 30, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I highly recommend this strap for several reasons: cost and easy to use! I used these straps to keep my joints tight as placing my hardwood flooring(especially with long boards). It seems a lot easier to use than other products I've seen where you drive nails to brace the tool and crank. With these, you just place the braces from the flooring edge close to the wall to the edge of the wood to be braced, tighten by cranking down, nail, and release! The straps are at least 25' long so you can do a large area with ease! My flooring looks squared by keeping good tight joints and I have no sqeaks!
Great accessory tool November 11, 2007 I bought a couple of these clamps to put in a floating tongue-and-groove floor. Easy to use, made it possible to do by myself. The floor looks great and has held up well. Definitely a worthwhile buy --
bessey clamp used for siding September 28, 2007 I used the clamp to tighten shiplap siding while installing. Screwed a small section of siding to moving end of clamp and screwed fixed end to corner of building. Works great. I used three clamps for a 12' high section in order to tighten at the three nailers.
