The JM-1 allows you to generate predictable saw or light chisel cuts with any high quality handsaw or chisel. Lay out your joints (or cuts) traditionally with a marking knife, awl or a pencil. Insert the appropriate guide block in the JM-1 body and tighten. Now position the JM-1 on your stock and tighten. Saw away, it's that simple! The JM-1 guides your saw exactly where you want without slop or wobble. Your sawing rhythm becomes so relaxing and accurate you won't believe the results. All you control is depth of cut, which means you need to pay a little attention and the JM-1 does the rest! The Guide Blocks are precision cut from hard rock maple wood and should last years with minimal care. The JM-1 will also accept custom guides from your shop if our standard set doesn't completely meet your needs. We currently make eleven different guide blocks: 90 degree, 45 degree face/edge, 30 degree face/edge, 22.5 degree face/edge, 8:1 dovetail set (pins and sockets) and a 6:1 dovetail set (pins and sockets). Our Paring Guides come three to a set, 6", 18" and 24". This should cover the vast majority of your needs. When not in use, our Paring Guides will hold your pencils, combo squares, rules, etc. Included are two JM-1 JointMakers, eleven Precision Guide Blocks, three Paring Guides and our free guide "Great Looking Joints by Hand with the JM-1 JointMaker"!
