Product Description We've tried almost every different oil filter wrench configuration available; adjustable-band models are a good idea but require side clearance. Sized 'cup' wrenches are effective but expensive and fit just one size filter. We were hopeful but skeptical when we found this wrench. We put it to the test on four different vehicles, each with unique and challenging filter placements (obviously designed by engineers who don't change their own oil!) One required a LONG reach through a fender-wall flap and another in an unbelievably cramped compact import. The filters ranged in size from 2-5/8" to 3-1/2" and at least one had been WAY over-tightened. This amazing wrench adapted flawlessly to each one--we removed and replaced filters in record time and didn't swear once. Solid hardened-steel construction and components with corrosion-resistant black-oxide finish.

Get at those hard to reach filters October 3, 2008 Spray the gears with WD 40 and go to work. On most filters you get enough leverage to remove and replace without even needing to use a wrench handel, just turn by hand.
DID NOT WORK for me!!! September 30, 2008 I purchased this based on the design concept, and reviews I read on Amazon. Here's the problem, the jaws WILL NOT GRIP in a tight space. I needed to access an oil filter in a tight location. Because I couldn't get both hands on the filter, I was unable to get the tool to bite into the filter (I really worked at this). If one had the room, you could possibly hold the wench with your free hand to keep it from spinning until the jaws actually gripped into the filter. If I had that much room, I wouldn't need a special tool.
Incredible on first look; can't wait to use August 3, 2008 0 out of 6 found this review helpful
I ordered this oil filter wrench because my '04 CR-V has a very small diameter oil filter which is very difficult to reach. The wrench I had purchased for the aftermarket filter did not work on the Honda brand which led me to have to run a screwdriver through the filter to get it off. I immediately began looking for a better wrench that would work on multiple size filters. This is the wrench I was dreaming about. From an engineering perspective, this should do it all. I will find out when I do my next oil change and fully expect to give this 5 stars. I only give it 3 now since I haven't used it.
"Adapters"?!?.....we don't need no stinking adapters....!!! June 12, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
If you only posess a 3/8-inch socket wrench set, fear not.....DON'T buy an adapter! Simply pull the chrome "nut" from the filter wrench, and voila!...there is a perfect 3/8" hole for your socket wrench or extension. They wouldn't design something that you'd have to purchase an adapter for, please! The wrench works great, on any size oil filter, in any location no matter how difficult to access. Sure helped lower my blood pressure!
Works like a champ!!! May 21, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought a used 2004 Fleetwood Bounder "Class A" RV with only 6,000 miles. My filters are quite accessable but had not been changed by the original owner. I tried (and deformed) every type of "strap style" wrench I could find. I connected my breaker bar to this puppy and it popped the oil and transmission filters (2 different sizes) free with minimal effort. It now resides in my maintence storage compartment of my coach. Don't leave home without it!
