A must have September 30, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Our old smoke alarm went off and we called the fire department to look for the fire. We were told that old alarms sometime go off even without the fire or smoke and should be changed about every ten years. We replaced ours with a similar model that fit into the old covers. We also learned that our model had a battery as well as electricity. The shrill sound of the alarm is awful but does make one alert to a problem. Since one alarm is always high up beyond reach with a ladder it can't be turned off quickly. I wish they had a turn off knob. We feel secure an hope we don't hear it again.
Smoke Alarms September 16, 2008 I bought thes to replace my expired smoke alarms. These were easy to install and hopefully will do their job.
KIDDE HARDWARE SMOKE ALARM August 13, 2008 THIS PRODUCTS WAS REASONABLY PRICED, ARRIVED QUICKLY AND WAS ABLE TO BE INSTALLED JUST AS EASILY AS DESCRIBED. WE WERE REPLACING AN OLD SMOKE DETECTOR AND WERE WORRIED ABOUT THE CONNECTIONS MATCHING UP. IT WAS ADVERTISED THAT THEY WOULD BE COMPATIBLE WITH WHAT WE HAD AND IT WORKED LIKE A CHARM.
There are better products out there. July 31, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It's been my experience that Kidde wired-in smoke alarms are prone to problems. One problem, chirping for no reason, happens at night, on weekends, and other times when you either cannot get help or have to take off work to deal with the problem.
Does what its suppose to and some!! May 9, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I needed to find a replacement for the older hard wired "Lifesaver"smoke detectors that were installed in my two 20 unit apartment buildings. It took me only 1 minute to punch out screw hole placement to existing set up. Rewired using the same set up and done. It works great and my tenants love the "Smart Hush" control to temporarily silence nuisance alarms. These will be my choice for all future replacements throughout each unit as needed.
