Amazon.com Product Description The Fiskars UltraBlade traditional bypass pruner features the patented UltraBlade coating, increasing blade sharpness to ensure greater ease of cutting and a longer blade life. This means more comfortable use, less fatigue, and less need for sharpening. In addition, UltraBlade offer corrosion resistance greater than that of stainless steel and stays sharp 5 times longer. Time-tested performance and patented features on this pruner combine to create a great value for the gardener. The cutting blade is replaceable and the hook is cambered to ensure clean cuts time after time. The enclosed spring won't get lost or tangled in dense foliage. This pruner also features Softouch, dual-layer comfort grips, designed to outlast ordinary foam grips, as well as a patented, easy-to-use ambidextrous lock. The bypass pruner has a 5/8-inch cutting capacity and comes with a lifetime warranty.

A so-so pruner July 18, 2008 Jams closed frequently as described by another reviewer.
After several years of moderate use the slide button became ineffective and unadjustable. It drove me nuts latching open or closed depending on the angle the pruner was at. Finally I replaced the slide button with a "Nylock" nut and bolt. Latches ok now.
It fits comfortably in my hand.
Great Pruner! November 11, 2007 These are the best pruners I have ever had. Very solid, with nice cut and strength. Highly recommended.
Sharp pruner. October 23, 2007 Great deal for around $8. Very useful aroung the yard. Even trims large diameter branches. Impress with its ability to snap those large branches.
Easily Jammed, Week Sping Action, Not Versatile September 23, 2007 This was one of the first cutters I bought for the garden and has been the least successful. The blades easily jam, this is particularly frustrating when trimming suckers at the base of a tree and I pick up a stray wood chip. Part of the problem maybe due to defective workmanship or faulty design because the blades don't make a tight pass and can become easily clogged. It only worked trouble free for a month before I had to replace it with the Power Gear design from Fiskars, a dramatically better product!
This might be good for medium duty branch trimming and nothing else, but otherwise I would look at the other Fiskar designs for a more trouble-free and versatile trimmer.
