Amazon.com Product Description
The Fiskars big grip garden knife features a comfortable grip and an oversized tool head to provide added comfort and control. The garden knife is an ideal choice for digging, planting, weeding, and transplanting. It sports a serrated edge on one side to cut through tough roots and a straight blade on the other side ideal for digging. The pre-sharpened edges are designed to cut through the ground easier. The middle of the blade has a trough-like indention for transplanting soil or seeds, and has a notched tip at the end to remove weeds. The metal blade is also coated with a rust-resistant material, and the handle features a large hang hole for easy storage. The tool comes with a limited lifetime warranty.

5 out of 5 stars Fiskars Garden Knife works GREAT!   September 23, 2008

Fiskars Big Grip Garden Knife #7079
My wife & I have used this knife (digger) many times to remove weeds from the lawn and garden. It has worked flawlessly, yet easily and I can't wait to try it out when metal detecting since we have some heavy, clay-like ground.

1 out of 5 stars Broke almost immediately   September 17, 2008

The first time I tried to use this tool with any force, it snapped in half. I'll be returning it for a refund and applying the credit to a solid steel tang hori-hori, like I should have gotten in the first place.

1 out of 5 stars Big Disappointment   September 16, 2008

On the second pass into the ground to remove a weed the kinfe broke apart at the spot weld which was three tiny welds made to hold the knife blade to the handle. Very poor construction. Only Fiskars tool I've ever had that failed on initial use.Fiskars Big Grip Garden Knife #7079

1 out of 5 stars Poor quality knife   July 15, 2008

I purchased the Fiskars Big Grip Garden Knife through Amazon. It broke the first time I used it. The blade is welded to the handle and the weld broke. The tool was useless after 30 seconds of work. Apparently, it is not a very well made tool. I normally like Fiskars products but this one need a little more design work. I like this type of tool for weeding and garden use and there are several on the market which are better made.

5 out of 5 stars Japanese Garden Knife "hori hori"   July 8, 2008

As a landscaper, I have used this type knife for years. Some laugh because I don't even own a trowel. What I can tell you is that initially I hesitated buying these because they weren't the old fashioned wooden handled variety I have used in the past. Ultimately, I bought two for my crew and they have been thrilled. You would have thought I gave them gold by the way they talk about them. As for the grip handle, it is a perfect design and much easier on the hands.
